We took an 11-day trip in November to explore Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. We started with the sprawling metropolis of Quito. From there we flew to Baltra to embark on a 5-day cruise across some of the most notable Galapagos Islands. The diverse and intimate encounters with the amazing wildlife across the islands makes it one of the most memorable experiences in the world. We made our way back to Quito to further explore Quilotoa Crater Lake, Otavalo, and of course the equator. It just so happens, our flight home was cancelled and we ended up staying another 2 days due to the mandatory census that shuts down the country’s borders; check out my write up for more details on that adventure. Overall, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands should definitely be on any traveler’s list of destinations!
