We took our 13-day jaunt in June / July through Slovenia and Northern Croatia. The Slovenian portion of our trip launched from Ljubljana to explore the castle of Celje before immersing ourselves in the entertainment and energy of Maribor and incredible views of four countries from atop the Stolp Vinarium tower. After navigating our way through Northern Croatia, we continued in the Slovenian coastal town of Piran and took a day trip to the amazing Predjama Castle and Postojna and Skocjan Caves. From there we drove deeper into the Julien Alps wandering through the Tolmin Gorge and the countless switchbacks for the amazing views of Vršič Pass. The iconic views, hiking, and attractions of Lake Bled beckoned us next before we eventually found ourselves exploring Ljubljana and the mountainside town of Kamnik. Slovenia definitely impressed us and is absolutely under people’s radars.
