We took a 5-day trip in January to explore the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. We started with the fantastic beach and bars of Playa Del Carmen before continuing down to wandering amongst the picturesque Mayan ruins of Tulum. We then made our way inland across the numerous ‘topes’ (speedbumps) to the colorful town of Valladolid, towering temples of Coba and Ek Balam, as well as the surreal wonder of the world of Chichen Itza. It was a fantastic sampler of the best of the Yucatan without spending a minute in the tourist-infested Cancun!
