Welcome to Peru!

We took a 10-day trip in September through Peru to explore Cusco, Machu Picchu, and Lima. We started by exploring and acclimating to the mountain town of Cusco perched at over 11,000 feet in the Andes. After a couple days of wandering and trying some delicious cuy, we made our way by train to Aguas Calientes, which serves as a great launching point for various trails around Machu Picchu. We hiked the ladder laden Putucusi one day and experienced sunrise at the infamous Machu Picchu before making our way back to Cusco and flying to Lima. We ate our weight in ceviche and enjoyed the fantastic architecture of Lima for the remaining few days of our trip. Despite it’s popularity and hype, Peru did not disappoint and should be a staple to any traveler’s passport!
